Press Information
Contemporary Photography Fair

After a successful debut last autumn, FOTO BILD BERLIN will again this September fill the atrium of the "stilwerk" in Berlin's Kantstrasse with the participants and visitors to this contemporary photography fair. One of the seven thousand visitors last year was the current Governing Mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, who will chair this year's event.

FOTO BILD BERLIN is a meeting place for photographers and the interested public. Twenty-four selected photographers will each have a stand showing their current work. Each stand will be attended by the photographer; giving visitors a unique opportunity for direct contact, as well as the opportunity to buy high quality work from the original artist. The Fair is directed at a professional audience from the media, art and photographic world as well as anyone interested to discover photography for themselves, away from a formal gallery environment.

To ensure the high quality of participants, selection has been made by an international jury of nine from a wide range of backgrounds in art, photography, and journalism. These range from Martin Barnes, the Curator of Photography at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, to Siri Vorbeck, representing Zefa, one of Europe's biggest stock picture agencies.
